Cerámica gres modelada a mano en San Pedro de Atacama

Me llamo Antonia del Pedregal, aprendí cerámica gres en Santiago el 2018 por una inquietud creativa, el material siempre me había llamado la atención y anhelaba tener mi propia loza hecha de cerámica.

But it wasn't since 2020, already living in San Pedro de Atacama, that the magic happened! And the kiln that was what I needed to leave arrived unexpectedly and allowed me to begin my journey as a ceramist in the driest desert in the world.

My pieces have always responded to what I see, to the shapes and colors of the place where I live, I really like to draw so being able to create scenes of volcanoes and valleys are classics in my baking.

I always seek to grow as an artist, so using local land has always been the way to go, whether formulating glazes using pigments from here or making my own ceramic paste with soil from the driest desert in the world.
